Hello to all,
As I promised, here are some pictures of the Deserter GT I had some 27 years ago! I wish I had NEVER sold it!!! The paint on this one was flawless. I purchased it at the time all finished and registered as you see it. I had it for about a year, really didn't do anything to it and decided to sell it and devote my time to the Meyers Manx I also had (pics of that on the way). I paid $900 for the Deserter GT and think I sold it for $2500 about a year later. Remember, back then internet didn't exist and I can only think the current sale price of this Deserter GT today would be about $10,000 + ???

Enjoy the pics, Mark

I've recently removed the 36 HP motor and have put in an 1835, haven't heard it run yet. I hope to have it to the Silverlake sand dunes this summer.

        Definitely Keep it!

There are very few buggies running around CT, I would hate to see another one go out of state.

Its such a pain to get them registered in CT and yours would be so easy to register. Just go down to the DMV with your paperwork, I don't think you'll even need to get it inspected and you can probably still keep the old vanity plates.

Have you seen this Dune Buggy or know of its whereabouts?

$$$$$$$ Finders Fee Offered $$$$$$$$

I am the original builder of this beauty (see the attached photo) and would love to haver it back in my collection again.

I think that some of us one time or another have sold a buggy that later in life we regretted ever parting with. As for me it was in 1976. I was a young dumb teen that did not know what I had built. So now I am looking for it. It was built using a 1965 Bug pan and a Sand Puppy Body. It was last seen in SE Michigan as the new owner drove it away. As far as I know it may still be in the area. It may still have the original 1200 VW single port engine. The original color was metallic silver with ice blue custom paint on the hood. VDO gauges, speedometer, fuel and volt meter. Chevy chrome reverse wheels with moon caps. It also has 1968 Chevy Nova tail lights which are very unique in itself. Most builders that use a Sand Puppy body, usually used Pinto or Maverick tail lights.

If you know where this Dune Buggy is or even own it. Please contact me. I would like to buy it back and will pay fair market value.

E-mail me at motorhead_43206@yahoo.com
