Bought these vehicles a couple of years ago to restore, but have too many vehicles in collection that need restoration. Unfortunately, something has to go. They need a good home. Since they are super rare, you will probably never come across owning two out of twenty again.

I found one a year prior, and fell in love with them, but I had no money at that time. A year later I found one on eBay and I had to have it, so I drove from 10:30 until like 2:30 am, slept in Western PA for a few hours, then I drove the rest of the way to Ohio, and towed it back the next day. A long trip in less than 48 hours, but it was worth it, male bonding with my dad, and I got my dream car.

Story |
Built by Adams Speed Shop, Allentown Pennsylvania in 1970 and Family owned ever since.Very low miles, the condition speaks for itself. Everything on this Imp is 100% Original and no work has been done on it since. This Imp is more like a time machine into the 70s, everything that was installed on the imp in 1970 even the front plate and the stickers are in the same condition they were back then. This buggy was built to show/performance specs and then put into storage out of the weather and only taken out for shows. Featured in French Super VW Magazine and all original assembly instructions, parts catalog and dealer brochure still intact.

Story |
I had been searching for a VW Dune Buggy with a rear seat (I have three boys) in various conditions. I am capable of a full frame up restoration, but time is a premium so the best condition at the best price was the ultimate goal. After two years of casual looking (Auto Trader, internet etc.) I found this one. Located in a rural vacation area about three hours north of Toronto. The VW was purchased in 1973 and converted to the Dune Buggy (apparently the car had been rolled). The dune buggy was then sold to the brother in 1975 and was in the same family since. The buggy was used to go from cottage to beach and run around town. It has been garage stored and has very little rust, it even had original bias ply tires that were suitable for certification. The owner was getting on in age and none of the family members were interested in investing the time and money to get it road worthy again. I purchased the buggy in fall of 2005 and began mechanical work. I spent the next year and a half on brakes (hone cylinders, new shoes, bleed entire system), all four ball joints, exhaust, carburetion and entire rewiring of the electrical system. The process of certification, appraisal and insuring took a few months. In June 2007 we put the buggy on the road and have been having fun since. We plan to do some cosmetic work to body, interior, wheels etc. Looking for good ideas for the 70’s orange side panels
