Story |
Bought this Mark II Sportsman from Florida. The owner told me that it was used by the Shriners for parades and that their was no rust. As I started tearing it down there was nothing but rust, and I ended up replacing the pan with a pre-made tube frame. I then bought a newly rebuilt engine (1600 dual port). This is the first time I did any automotive paint, and also wiring so it was definitely a lesson learned. The only major change that I made was to cut the dash out. I bought a Manx dash. The dash had to be cut to fit as it was about three inches too big to mount. Definitely worth the hard-ache though it turned out great! I have been slowly working out all of the bugs, and soon it will be a daily driver.

As I started tearing it down there was nothing but rust, and I ended up replacing the pan with a pre-made tube frame. I then bought a newly rebuilt engine (1600 dual port). This is the first time I did any automotive paint, after resanding it a few times it turned out great! I definitely learned alot about wiring too. I guess there is a first time for everything. The only major change that I made was to cut the dash out. I bought a Manx dash. The dash had to be cut to fit as it was about three inches too big to mount. Definitely worth the hard-ache though it turned out great as well!!! I have been slowly working out all of the bugs, and soon it will be a daily driver.
