![]() If you are willing to help out, please let me know you area of expertise. I will be trying to break everything down into areas and have project managers for each aspect of the build. founder ![]() ![]() Thanks, Jay ![]() We will need to have a formal list of builders. Participants will need to sign in and out of the area. There will be security provided and the general public will be roped off from the DBA gang as we work on the project. I will have the opportunity every two hours to make update announcements on the build. That will keep the public posted on what we have accomplished and what we are doing next. I have also confirmed our DBA seminar time as Sunday 10-11 am. The Buggy Build will be featured during this time period and be a major highlight of the show. I need to confirm 15 Wrench Hands ASAP. CLICK the Email us blue glitter button at the bottom left. Send me an email and let me know if you are planning to help during any part of the Buggy Build. Thanks again guys.

Looks like I will be there and if someone can point out what a Dune Buggy is then I might be able to bolt a few things on to help out.

Manx Club #1030, CVA, RBC, SCCA ![]() Jay ![]() We got the car running on Friday night. We haven't driven it on the road yet. We'll do that tomorrow. We are in the process of putting parts on the buggy (hood, bumpers, wheels, interior, pods, roof and a few other things). We plan to be in Effingham on Friday afternoon. Tom sent a message to you when he read your post on the Samba about the gas tank. We have 2 spares and we were willing to part with one if you needed a tank in a hurry. We see that you already took care of that issue. Hope you are having a smooth and safe trip. You're going to go Subaru while you are out in IL? That seems hard to imagine. We have spent all winter with this project and we are finally @ the point where we are up and running. We also put a whole car together. Good luck with your conversion. We'll have to peek in on what you are doing. See you soon. Kathleen

Manx Club #1030, CVA, RBC, SCCA ![]() I know... It's two days from the drive to Effingham for me and we just test fit the engine tonight. Tell me about hard to imagine! ![]() Actually, Paul from this site has a business Dune Engines LLC and he's been putting things together for the swap for a while now. I wanted to hide a radiator up under the body, but the room is just at too much of a premium. My original thought with the radiator was I would install a temp radiator on the motor just to get it home, where I could take measurements and order a custom radiator if I had to just to get it a little more hidden. Saying the temp radiator is not show worthy is a stretch of the imagination. Its big and ugly. ![]() Aside from the radiator, if you can get past that... you might just be surprised at the rest of the engine and the quality of the components as well as the craftsmanship involved. I hope you and Tom have a safe trip out and I'll see you at the show. Jay Powered by mwForum 2.10.2 © 1999-2007 Markus Wichitill |
