To add more info here, thought I'd post the ratios I have for the WRX transaxles, and a couple others:

1-5 and R&P:
3.454  1.947  1.366  0.972  0.738,  3.900  (MY 02-05 US WRX)

I noted that the Forrester XT and Baja Turbo (MY 04-05) have the same 1-5 ratios, but run a 4.444 R&P.  That's something that might work a lot better for acceleration or larger rear tires.

From there, the Impreza and Legacy (non-turbo) models seem to run a variety of different ratios and R&P combinations, depending on model, engine and year, but all run either a 3.90 or 4.11 R&P ratio.

Here's another interesting combo, MY 03-05 Legacy, Legacy Outback and Baja:
3.454  2.062  1.448  1.088  0.871,  4.111

Very good Jeff.. You saved me some time looking that up and posting a FYI. I've been told all the gears are interchangable in sets from year to year. Also Subaru makes a set of gears $$$$$ that they use for rally racing that are next to undistructable.
I'd like to see this site become the leader on rear, mid-engine and wiring for the Subaru powered Buggy's and rails. I think if we can get John at OutFrount (OutBack), Brett Longhurst at Bremar plus Breman now owns Saker to do some ad work here plus provide some info. would be a major plus. Just some food to think about. Besides rails are nothing more than a stripped down Buggy. We might even intice some $$$$ into building a modern Buggy.
At my age.. Everything I buy comes with a lifetime guarantee..
