I have wanted a dune buggy since my father took me to what may have been a dealer when I was very young. This was in Connecticut I believe, but I have not been able to confirm anything. In any event I just purchased my first dune buggy some 50+ years later. I believe it may be a sears rascal, but I am not sure. It has what i think may be a Con-Ferr chassis, thats been modified over time. It has an early 1961ish corvair engine, transmission and rear suspension with a VW link pin beam on the front. I'll try and add some pictures. Unfortunately for me, the owner after the builder was something of a hack, so I will be rewiring it shotly, and fixing some fuel line and throttle cable routing issues.

Welcome to the DBA. We're not very active anymore, but there are a few of us around. Your buggy does look like it might be a Sears Rascal, but don't take my word for it (I'm far from an expert). Looks like you have some work ahead of you, but it will be worth it when it's done. Good luck on your restore.
