I was visiting my brother and we did his garage sale circle on the way to breakfast.Saw a dune buggy beside the garage and bought it. I am a Ford guy and many vintage bikes of all makes My previous VW knowledge was bolting on fender and 2x6 wood bumpers on my moms 72 super bug that was totaled three times by rear end collisions( she drove really slow!) Saw my new buggy and had to rescue it. Titled as a 65. 1600 motor with dual carbs, and mechanical distributor. and cool aluminum oil pan previous owner had made new floors out of aluminum diamond plate . I looked underneath and saw a nice frame and good quality work. has early larger lug pattern. The guy I bought it from had started sanding the 70's wild paint job. I really wish he had left it alone. I am going up with a trailor and will bring it home Saturday and I will need input and help learning Dune buggy restoration.

Good luck with the project! Looks like a nice start. I have a feeling that hood might be butt ugly but the good news is that it looks like a Manx-ish clone so a new Manx style hood would likely fit.
I found a tag under Dash that says CITATION DUNE BUGGY BODIES BERMAN SPEED EQUIPMENT BREMAN INDIANA

I'm not sure how far you you need to tow the buggy but I'd skip the trailer and get a tow bar. You're going to need one at some point anyway and it's the easiest way to drag one around. Best of luck! Be Big, AMAC
Just noticed a tow bar in the photo. Make it part of the deal.

That is a nice buggy. Hope you got it for a good price. Lots of good advice here on the forum.
