just picked up a sand rover body. its a 4 seater but has the T buggy hood like the old pickups. I haven't seen
any others like this and wonder if it could have been a special order. all the ones I have seen in the gallery have 2 seats and the pickup box in the rear. any info will be greatly apprieciated and will make me a little smarter on this buggy build. vic the first picture is from the ad on craigslist it is sitting on a shortened vw chassis. the next ones are on the shortened triumph spitfire chassis with the engine and trans installed Attachment: choppedbuggyfrontshot800x450.jpg (194.1k)

Have you detached the hood from the rest yet? be interesting to see how far the fiberglass I can see goes towards the main body. It does look like it might give you enough room for the Triumphs motor, how does it measure for wheel placement. Thinking you might not have to modify the body much, giving option to change it out later on and put something else on should you decide, and still get money out of the Dune buggy body.
These are just my thoughts.
yes the hood comes right off. it is attached to the dash but will be separated as I will
need access to the engine. the firewall has been removed temporarily to move the body forward to where it needs to be. the frame was shortened to 80" from 83".
Look forward to more pictures of your progress.
Lloyd
Any info and thoughts on value.

It is a two seat Sportster with truck nose. Motor is free with good compression. Trans feels good, buggy is complete. Needs floor pans and the usual revival process. Brakes fuel system refresh etc. with title for 67 beetle. Top is there does have some holes in it. I have a Manx two project I am building for myself so this one is to be sold.
I can not speak to price, but give it some time on here. Traffic is not often. Suggest you look on Ebay and Samba for some ideas. Good luck in the sale.
