I painted engine and took most everything off and found the intermediate flange ( plastic piece between fuel pump and case) was broken down inside the block. Piece is lodge in there pretty good and i made a lame atempt to pull out with a pic and it did not come out ( was afraid i would break pic) so i might need to get a puller or bend a screwdriver.
My question is does it need to come out and be replaced our can i put it back together as two pieces?
If it does not matter and will not mess things up i would rather leave it alone
This part was broken when i took apart.

Most people run a big tap into it and then thread a bolt in to grab a hold of and yank it out.
Yes...you should replace it. It may crumble if left in there and then you could have some trouble.
Its a pretty common thing.

Geet it out for sure, it could break up and go into hte cam gear and possibly break your cam, or plug up an oil galley
