I had a quick shift plate in my 66 Bug, and that seemed to work just fine. This Manx SR came with a SCAT shifter now that I've about got the buckets in the shifter has to go. I'm 6'1", and the bucket seats arn't going to go back any further with out replacing the roll bar. I need a shifter about 6" high and curved back a bit. Any suggestions?

you could use a curved Hurst shifter or an Empi copy of the Hurst.  You could also bend a stock Bug shifter or get one of the curved extensions to go on the stock one.

PS: I got the seats but have not taken them out of the box.

6" is a real short shifter. I think the short trigger shifters are 12". Some T handle ones are 9-10"

I've looked at the pics of Hurst, Empi, and ,,,. They all appear to be too long. I've seen one after market shifter that looked good, but no name given as to mfg. I agree 6" is a short shifter, and that's why I'm thinking about modifying a stock shifter. Another question will all the shifters interchange?
