I was wondering if during the 'Dune Buggy Classifieds' cleanup/move to 'Classified Sold Archives' can the attached pictures be moved with the postings? I was thinking that the photos may be helpful at some point in recognizing a particular cars history, identifying regions a body style was found, etc.
Thanks Rob ![]() In many situations, someone will post a link to a craigslist ad or to an Ebay ad. Once these particular ads have been removed from craigslist or from Ebay, then the pictures are gone forever. IF someone posts something saying (as an example) "hey look st this Allison Daytona for sale" They link to it, but also physically grab the images from the craigslist or ebay ad and then "Attach" them to the post, then we will have pictures for future use/reference. I *think* what you may be referring to is a post that has been moved, and is linked to an ad that is no longer active on either craigslist or ebay. In these situations.... if the image hasn't been saved on someone's computer and "Attached" to the post, when I go through and look at the ads before I even move them, when I click on the ad, it brings me to a page that is no longer active. This is typically when I move and ad. Best, Jay
Thanks for the quick reply!
Here are a couple of Buggy Classifieds I posted with attached pictures: Corvair based buggy: http://www.dunebuggyarchives.com/forum/topic_show.pl?tid=3216 ACE Industries Pickup: http://www.dunebuggyarchives.com/forum/topic_show.pl?tid=3186 Allied? with Spare Tire Hood http://www.dunebuggyarchives.com/forum/topic_show.pl?tid=3154 I'm sure there were pictures attached, not links. Did I do something incorrectly? Thanks again!
unless you grab the images and text and store it locally, it will purge when the source expires the post or deletes the images
like this: http://corvette.canney.net/future/tilted/index.html I had to grab and store the images on my own server after I bought this ![]() ![]() Rob, there was a setting for this board that needed to be tweaked. See... All better now. Thank you for bringing this up. I may not have ever caught it. Jay
Thanks! All better now.
