I got them from Fiberfab for about 8 months ago, when I heard they have started to produce it again.
I talked with a gentleman from FiberFab yesterday. I'm affraid I don't recall his name though. Anyway, he said the kit is $1750 and it bolts onto a shortened VW pan. I didn't think to ask if the windshield was included.
I did encourage him to post lots more info and pics here at DBA.

I think it's a rear firewall or some inner structure. It looks like it would match the shape of a pan at the rear area where the body bolts down. The orange piece looks like a front bulkhead where the master cylinder goes.

This kit comes in four parts - there is the main body, front kick wall, rear seat wall, and the dash/console.
Anybody have any other photos of a running Machette speedster? I've not ever found any, aside from the photos posted above. tom
The guy I talked to (man I wish I remembered his name!) said they had sold a few kits. I encouraged him to get build pics from these customers and post them here.
I am really wanting to build one BAD. Imagine the looks of turbo Subaru motor on that thing with some sweet rims and modern low profile tires. Side mounted radiators would be pretty easy it looks like.
