Most unusual buggy in Arizona. Would like to get this one.
PostingID: 1770690853 Craigslist phoenix. Not sure how to post from craigslist and get the picture to show.
It looks like a Bounty Hunter, (or maybe a Deserter) with a Manx top. The windshield support posts were a custom casting and the windshield is kind of tough to find.
Nice looking buggy!
I think a Bounty Hunter. I am not 100% positive but I think the Deserter was only shortened 10".
And yes...good luck finding posts (unless you raid my shop!) Windshields are from a late 50s / early 60's Renault Dauphine. Pro-Source glass in MA carries replacement windshields. Last quote I had was $410 plus shipping and crating. Your probably looking at close to $600 for the glass. After two years of searching I was just able to locate a windshield for $300 shipped to my door. Its going to be bubblewrapped and hidden in my closet until I can build my Deserter.
Easy way to tell is the Bounty Hunter has no indent in the hood for the round Autodynamics emblem. There are three basic versions of this body. The third is the Marauder and it was copied from the Deserter and has the round indent in the hood and front wheel splash guards (in front of the tires) Although you dont see any Marauders they were available up until the 80's
![]() Nice find with the top. The BH used different windshield posts than the Deserter. Having at least the posts (or not) is a big selling point, or bargaining point on these cars. Jeff Powered by mwForum 2.10.2 © 1999-2007 Markus Wichitill |
