I know that this might be hard to do, but I'd like some help. Seeing how there were seemingly endless numbers of kit manufacturers over the years, it might be next to impossible to determine the maker. Here is my body that I got for free. It needs some work, but it's pretty good.
Now, what is it and who made it? It looks as if the tail-light area has been cut out a little in the center, but i'm not sure. I'll try and get some better pics soon. Thanks everyone. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Thanks, Paul...

Well I was wrong about the similarities of mine and the other pic I put up here. I went and got some more pics. Still not very good ones, but they should be able to help. I still couldn't find it in the registry... The fenders are flat and so is the rear, with no box cover and no recess for lights. The rear might have been cut to that shape though...

For ID purposes, it has a battery box cut-out in the normal beetle location and cut out for installing a factory gas tank (I think). To me it looks closest to the Sand Flea, but I cant see the back in those pics or the Terra Buggy Coyote, but I cant see if it has the licsence plate recess in the front hood in any pics. Any other ideas?
![]() ABS black plastic Manx style dash was only found in a Kellison SP1 and a Corsair. The Corsair had a Glitterbug style (late rascal) tail with the single hood ridge, and the Manx style dash. With the tail cut off, it is hard to tell which. Not a Glitterbug because they used a fiberglass dash with a square speedo shape dropped below the dash. Not a Terra buggy or Rascal because the dash they used had a leg over to the passenger side for your radio and was also fiberglass. I would strip the underside and look for business cards glassed into the body from the resin layer of the mold. Who knows, might find one like this. ![]()

It looks like a Sandpiper sp1. Thanks for your help guys! Here are the pics from the id section:
![]() ![]() ![]() Here's a link to John Shepard's Kellison Sandpiper XP1 photo gallery and his Roadster gallery. I'm hoping someone who's a bit more of a Kellison expert than I am can clear this up. Mark - Please go ahead and add your entry to the SP-1 Registry. I can move Brad's if we can determine that his is actually an XP-1. Mark, I'm curious if you used the "Buggy ID" system & what you thought of it. How easy was it and how many passes did you have to go through to find a matching body? Thanks, Paul...

Paul,
I always refer to the buggy as a Kellison. It is in fact a XP-1 and not the SP-1 ("The Dune Buggy Phenomenon" pg #37). Sorry for the mix up, too many gas fumes I guess. I will make the change after this post. Thanks, Brad ![]() Paul...
