You won't be doing any gymkhana in your buggy. the front end is just too light. Turn the wheels, stab the gas, and you'll be going straight anyway. It would be cool to see what a driver like that can do with a subi powered buggy though. I can see a lot of throttle control used to steer though. :-)

Jay, Driving properly the driver should become part of the car. The best way to learn driver control is to find a sno covered empty parking lot and learn to control the car.. When I was very young my brother took me out on a frozen lake, and thats where I learned how to ride a motorcycle. When we moved to Alaska my kids were racing sno-machines with motorcycles and beating them.

Whats exciting is know every move your car will make and push it to the max.... That is when driving is fun....

Albert,
I don't disagree with that at all. I think it's awesome that your kids were beating sleds on ice with their motorcycles!
I guess I'll have to get the buggy out and do some doughnuts in the back yard! :-)

My sister has made me promise I'd write about my life and is starting to dig out some old photo's and I have some of me racing on the ice, Sacramento 1 mile, Springfield 1 mile and the old track at Daytona.
When I think about my life, it was really exciting to be a kid back then.. As a kid when we lived in southern Calif I use to stop in Meyers Drake Offenhauser engine shop and sweep floors just to be there and talk to Lou Meyers. Later on I met Bill Vukovich when he was racing Midgets and when he went to sprint cars gave me his midget... That was my 1st race car.. Billys brother Eli took me under his wing and took me all up and down the pacfic coast racing on the 1/4 mile dirt tracks.. Damn that was fun. I was too young to race so Eli would enter himself and the car then suit me up with a rag around my face so they couldn't tell... Sorry for rambling, but it was fun being a kid back then. No TV's, Intendo's, computers, drinking water out of a hose, riding in the back of a pickup on a hot summer day.
Oh well, Now I'm in my final part of lifes cycle "Life's journey is not to arrive at the grave safely in a well preserved body, but rather to slideing in sideways, In a cloud of dust, totally worn out, screaming "HOLY CRAP what a ride!"
