![]() That definitely look like a Shelbiette Hood. The body is more typical of a buggy other than a Dune runner. I have the full brochure in a box. I'll look and post more this week. They did advertise 9 model with 24 combinations of body and hood or aomething like that. John

I realize that this is an old thread but I believe I may be the current owner of this buggy. There are a lot of similarities between the buggy in these pictures and my buggy. (See thread on The Samba: https://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/viewtopic.php?p=8783942#8783942) The rims match and the rear tires are the same. The original shifter my buggy came with was the same, the previous owner had changed it out to the current one but included the original in the sale. The dash is painted the same and my buggy has yellow paint under the tan primer. The gas filler hole has been covered on mine but is in the same place.
The person I bought it from purchased it from the previous owner on the island of Kaua'i in Hawaii. It shows signs of having sat for a long time but was purchased in running condition. Any info regarding the build would be appreciated if it is the same buggy. Also, John, if you have the info you were looking for it would be appreciated.
