Another X-0050: Help figure this one out

Can anyone help me figure out what i just bought? My husband has his sand rail and I wanted one too but I don't know what it is. It is registured on a 1958 vw pan.

This looks like a Safari clone with a cowl bump for gauges.

Hi Jay,
This is the same fiberglas mold as our X-files listing for 4-5-2008. It has the same off-set hood, and same flat tail for tail-lights. Your tail light bezels look like ours as well (produced by Yankee back east). We've since learned that it's most likely a body produced by Welch Fun Cars in the Salt Lake Valley, Utah. (Murray City). Since we have 2 buggies now with the same body--how about adding a category? The difference between our two buggies seems to be the dashboard.

Where did you purchase your buggy Ma'am?

Jay/John, have you come across any other dunebuggies with the offset hood tach bump in the past year or so? Key characteristics include the flat back end and Yankee lights.

I haven't seen any others besides yours and Benita's. John was wondering how you heard or knew that yours may be a Welch Fun Car. Any info on how you heard that or read that?
