Can someone please help me figure out what kind of body this is. I just got it and as a trade for my sand rail, and I'm not real fond of the model T grill. I would like to find out if there is another hood that might fit it, but I have to know what it is first. I looked in the model pics and it kinda looks like the 08th one down on the left side, but that one has no writing or name on it.
Thanks for your help.
Dave

Dave, the 8th one down on the left is a Citation, which I'm pretty sure your's is not. Have a look here though and see if this helps you determine any better if its a Citation:

FYI: you can click all the pictures to enlarge them.

The citation has a flip up tail, which makes me think this isn't a Citation. What does the badge say? Is that Empi GTV? What about on the grille? Is that an Empi badge as well?

Yeah your right the grill sticks out farther on that one and mine doesn't flip up in the back. The grill just says EMPI and yes it does say EMPI GTV on the back. Is GTV a model?

Thanks for your help

Geez, I don't know... John or Bart may have some info on that GTV badge. I know about the Empi Imp, but that's the only model from Empi that I know of.

I don't have any info on this one, the GTV , EMPI, and callook badges are all items you can buy at any VW show and through numerous advertisers. I have seen windshields similar to this one, but cannot place it.

I remember a round top windshield frame on a Greene Motors Minibug.
An accessory the offered with optional parts?

This T buggy has a very distinctive rear fender/tail area. Also a large dash.
Intersting buggy and I would like to see better detail pics of the dash and under the rear seat.

Add this one to X files Jay she's a one off right now.

I agree with Bart, all the vendors sell the EMPI badges since the early eightees. No help there.
How about checking the firewall near the steering column hole and underside of the fenders and dash.

Dave, typically as for the hood, the tubs were all very similar.
There is no guarantee that another buggy hood will fit, but it is likely that a Berrien Buggy hood would fit.
Are you close to Michigan?

John,
I've got this added to the to do list. All the X- files need to be manually added, so I'll need to get together with Paul .
He's on vacation for two weeks, so we'll get this one added at some point after that.
