New to VWs, Buggys and mechanics but an impulse buy on christmas eve has brought a lot of fun and learning experiences.
2 years now this purple Dunbar model d has been part of our lifestyle on Cape Cod.
top end rebuild this past winter, planning on rewiring the 70s style electrical and rebuilding the drum brakes. trying to keep it simple and as original (at least to me) as possible.
It is looking like every winter will be to update and maintain my buggy.

I know very little about my buggy because very few were made out in the framingham ma area. but 1970 vw is pretty simplistic as I am learning.

P.S. do not believe the "buggy i.d." knows my model, either that or i can't figure out this platform very well

If you want to post pictures, you can do it once you make your post and it is "published". you can then go back and add attachments, please try to keep them around the 580KiB size.

Hi capebuggyD - If you click on the Buggy ID button, look for the row of letters and click "D" - scroll down to see our brief write up on the Dunbar Model D.

Here is a link to our Dunbar registry. Looks like you would be the first Model D: http://www.dunebuggyarchives.com/registry/dunbar
