stock carb 1600 dual port

1972 carb wont idle anymore. Cleaned it multiple times. Engine is newly rebuilt, runs great. Is it just possible carb is woreout? I noticed butterfly at bottom of carb has worn into idle port. That cant be good!! This carb has always had an idle problem.

IF the throttle shaft is that worn that it is starting to cut into the carb body the carb needs to be replaced
