Sept 2017 I started to build a purpose built buggy for an all out assault on my current LSR record at Bonneville. I came home Friday of the Labour Day weekend with 120 feet of tubing and a basic idea of what I wanted to build,
My friend Jim bent the cage tubes for me and another friend, Conrad, used his plasma table to cut my rear shock mounts and bent up the firewall where the pedals and steering rack mount. Once again my good friend John is doing all the aluminum fabrication for me building me a custom fuel tanks and doing the floors, fire wall and side panels for me. I did all the welding and fab an the rest of the chassis as well as cutting up the body and putting the pieces back together. The body was already fairly chopped up and missing the dash front fire wall and parcel tray. I cut 11" out of the middle of it to make it a single seater and I stretched the wheel base out to 94" but didn't stretch the body so the engine sits behind the car and the body sits lower than possible if it was in the regular place. Here's the readers digest version of the build. Hope you enjoy. Brad ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Jay ![]()
The rear fender shape is specifically what says this body is Not a Deserter Series 1. Too rounded.
