First, who else has a desert Fox Scorpion ? Just picked this up yesterday. Not sure what I will do with it yet. Id like to find other owners to see: Have they ever cleaned the gas tank. I think its molded to the underside of the body Where to you put the battery? My other one has a hole cut behind the passenger seat. Anyone reproduce the scorpion emblem ? Where can I get the plexiglass covers for the lights. Not sure if they are bad idea or not. Thanks, David

David, same buggy and same color!Mine will be (if I ever get back to work on it) black metalflake gel-coat, with a little red and silver mixed in. Custom red interior by 2Tall Custom Interiors and will be Corvair powered.

As for the tank, we had to cut it away from the underside of the hood. It was held in with large strips of fiberglass. I used American Metal Cleaning out of Cincinnati to clean and inspect tank, I applied Red-Kote, installed a sending unit and she's ready to be glassed back in.

The brother (who still has his) of the guy I got my Scorpion from (they sold them in Dayton, Ohio back in the day) made his own headlight covers and said he would build mine as well.

As far as I know, the only logo/insignia was a actual scorpion embedded in resin attached in the center of the dash. I just bought a random scorpion in a chunk of resin and will grind it down and polish to replicate the original. The scorpion in the photo is the actual one that came with the buggy.
