My buggy has been running great. But then the last two cruises I went on if I let up on the gas pedal at a higher speed, (50 mph or so) I get a Backfire from the exhaust. Any ideas I can check?

Any help appreciated.....

Exhaust leak.

X2. If you notice it even while coasting down a hill, it's likely an exhaust leak. Look for carbon buildup around the joints or where the pipes bolt to the motor.

Thanks you guys. I am in the process of checking those bolts now. I adjusted the brakes and tightened the clutch cable a bit yesterday. Boy my hands are too big to get into those tight areas these days. Due to the Congestive Heart Failure I am on meds that cause briusing with any pressure. I came into the house last evening and my wife said my forearms looked like I had been caught up in a farmers combine. I have to wear a lot of Cover Girl to hide the bruises. It's embarrassing.

Thanks again, I continue checking for those leaks. It's getting kinda of hard to get the rear tires and rims off.....
