Hi, I'm trying to ID this body. I know of 8 of them all located in Western Canada. 6 in Saskatoon and 2 in Edmonton. The hood looks like an exact copy of a Manx hood. the center section is more flat before it kicks up to the rear fenders and it has a large engine cover that hinges on the top. They are very well made bodies, thick glass and lots of reinforcements along the body. The rear area is flat with a hole cut into it on the passengers side to access the glassed in battery box which sits quite low. The hood and dash are bonded together. any help would be greatly appreciated by several of us.
cheers, brad
I have a few on file and they do come from Canada, I don't have any info other than that however

![]() Information form Manxbug....... That buggy was created by Stan Jevne in Entwhistle Alberta. Stan passed away in 1990 and the molds were sold to some unknown person. This person could be Steve Dierkson in Edson Alberta. Stan was married to Philis and had a son probably named Stan Jr. He owned a grass green version of his buggy and also made a one off blue green coloured Mini Mac truck (on a beetle pan, pics to come) My friend Ed bought a total of 3 buggies from Stan, One for himself, that his son Len has. A second for his boss at the time, Helmut Pietrich. And a third for his brother in law, Rick Doehring. Ed's going to try to find his original bill of sale for me to copy, and he's also got some pictures of the Mini Mac and Stan's Buggy. I'll try to get copies of this to pass along too. I will add after talking to Ed at a local VW show that the Orange buggy (Ed's) was build in 1976 to give some sort of idea of the year these bodies were produced. Thanks goes to Manx bug for all the help thus far!

Here's what we know so far.
The bodies were made in Entwhistle Alberta, Canada in the early '70 by Stan Jevne who owned a body shop. There were approximately 17 bodies made, a few of them being the hard top version with doors. The buggies never were given a name, just called "Buggies" After Stan passed the molds were sold by off by his wife and never seen again. His sons and Grandson are searching for the molds in hopes of using them to put the body back in production. If they can't be found they will take a mold off an existing body. There was another set of molds made in British Columbia from an original body and a few bodies were made from those by another person, although the hood was redesigned to be higher in the front to accommodate a larger fuel tank. brad ![]() Only 17 hey. WOW. Maybe I should get my re appraised!

Hi. Just found this site. You can count one more. I have one too. I'm in Myrnam alberta. Does anyone know what the two bumps are for on the hood? I was thinking maybe to put some guages? This is on a 1967 chassis.
![]() No idea what the bumps are for but would be a great place for some small gages.

Thanks. It has some small Indicater lamps in them now for the signal lights. I'm hoping to start some work on it this winter. Nothing fantastic just making it a fun driver.

Welcome Taisto H 3037
This is the first buggy like ours that I have seen the bumps on the hood. I'm assuming they were put in by someone probably for "muscle car" inspired styling for gauges. Always great to see another "Canadian Buggy" getting finished. There is another one in town here rotting away ina driveway, the owner want WAY too much money for it, but would be nice to get hold of and restore into a sensible street car LOL. Keep us posted on the build!!! We're always glad to help out when we can. brad ![]() ![]()

Glasser, I see also that the rear wheels on the one in your photo have been widened. Mine are too. They cut the rims and welded in a piece.
I see this one has the hood bumps like mine so I guess mine must be around the same year model. Sorry but i'm talking about the Orange photo.
Just thought I'd throw in this photo of my buggy I built in 1968 when I was 16. I just restored it to better than original. Put a Judson on it also.

These are great. I'm sure I have seen that mack years ago. So I guess mine still has some of the original colour on it. I wonder if mine is Stans? It still has the exact same rear tires as the one in the picture.
![]() So if 17 were made we have pictures of 10 out of the 17? Unreal. And we can confirm the buggies with the bumps on the hoods were built after the ones with out the bumps on the hood.

I guess the Jevne buggy.?
Started work on my Jevne buggy today. I now see that it has not been painted but is just faded gell coat. it is black and green under side. It is just the exact opposite of the picture of Stans. Even the striping is the same. One thing it has is a VW clock, I have never seen one before. Will post photo's as it develops.
Another day in Buggyland.
I just found three more here in Alberta. http://calgary.kijiji.ca/c-cars-vehicles-classic-cars-1970-VW-Dune-Buggy-W0QQAdIdZ312584906 http://grandeprairie.kijiji.ca/c-cars-vehicles-classic-cars-vw-buggy-W0QQAdIdZ326887557 http://grandeprairie.kijiji.ca/c-cars-vehicles-classic-cars-VW-DUNE-BUGGY-PROJECT-W0QQAdIdZ342653016

Just registered. Both buggy's. See you then.
"Did this body style ever get added to the Buggy ID page? I think we have enough info on it that it should be. But what should it be called?"
I think we should call them the "Jevne Jesters" LOL brad ![]() ![]() http://public.fotki.com/BrentH/dune-buggy/page2.html
