I. Need a roll bar for Allison buggy. Does anyone know dimensions of one? Can you find them already chromed? Thanks Jim
I'm going to piggy pack on your post and ask a question.
Can a roll bar in a Dunebuggy be functioning one? It seems that the roll bars, I see, attached to the fiberglass body.
You won't find a factory chromed roll bar for an Allison.
And most of the "roll bars" you see are for looks. As are many of the "cages". You need a individually designed roll cage that is tied into the frame and triangulated for maximum protection. If not then drive it like you would drive a motorcycle.
For the longest time I could not rap my mind around the roll bar not being function. Thanks Jeffrey
Most people call the "roll bars" that you see mouse traps because in a roll over they would fold over like...well....a mousetrap.
You know, I have had a roll bar for many years, bare metal, but I have never used it 'cause I know it's pretty much worthless for safety. My wife and I use the buggy on the streets only, and I have to say these Buggies are real ground huggers as they are.
