Hello, I wanted to share with everyone our car . My dad traded a vw  bus for this kit from a man in Palisade Colorado in 1968 August. It then went to Aspen Valley Airport where he was a A&P Mechanic and built the car out of vw bugs from the Aspen dump as was known then. It has been with us ever since. Custom aluminum T-Top ,1600DP ,Dual original Kadrons, Pontiac rims , Ford head lite bucket,1964 impala taillights ,diamond tuck interior. The body has nothing to indicate who built it.  I has all the aspects of a kyote as the glassed in front fuel tank and the pods under the sides for doors or fuel tanks. It was a blast to have my dad stand over me and ask , How I felt about just taking everything apart and putting it back. As he had to Drill and fit everything the first time. I said you did a great job, Ahead of his time. I love my Matchbox Hot Wheels car. The buggy was licensed for the street in 1974. I believe it to have been pirated by someone in salt lake city in 1966-67.Thanks Sam

Great Job, awesome buggy

Do you have more pictures?  One of the front, and one of a better shot of the slope on the tail, I kinda like that lovered look on the back.    If it were a Kyote, is should have a card in the glass under the passenger side of the dash, if it has not been cut out like mine.  Front shot will show what type of ridge it has on the nose.
That is a gorgeous Buggy!

Thankyou. I will get some on here soon. There are no cards or tags anywhere on the car . My dad has a Kyote brochure that Orville Mendonhal gave with the car but said it came out of salt lake city. He was a dealer for all vw stuff. The car sat for one year as Orville Said it was for himself and would not sell it. So my dad thinks it was either august of 1968 or 1969 that he got the body, top, seats and roll bar. That has to mean that it was done before or at the start of the production run. Way to much work to pop a mold on a body like that. That's why I think it was pirated. Both John and Fronz With Kustom Coach Works World famous vw Restorerations have looked and said do not know. Thats not to say that it couldn't be a prototype that they where going to sell. As you will see if you follow the body lines you can tell the kyote lines would match but it was popped out of a mold . Thanks Pics soon

Love your Thunderbird!  Got a line on a 66 town landau, hope they contact me back.

Interesting front of your buggy, would love to get lots closer to really look it over.  I see similarities of it to the Kyote.    I also like your top, that would be a neat addition to a kyote.

Thanks Lloyd. The bird is for sale. The top came with the kit and my dad made the parts to attach it.  More views of the nose. The car is going to change during the winter. My friend Eric Madison VW drag racing world record setter runs Two Manx buggies. Turbo EFI and all I can say is WOW. 11 sec Quarter mile ,60 foot wheelies just for fun. So we will see, probably keep in sportsman class.

Sam, are there any videos of those buggies doing the Wheelies? I would love to see them if they're available.
Then I can tell all my friends that the "Lil' Bugger" can do that too. Of course, it can't, but what do they know.

Someone is always asking, "Kool little car, how fast does it go?: I usually respond, "You don't even want to try it it!". That leaves them wondering about my little 60 hp, single stock carbed buggy...  LOL

I did not take a video but I will ask eric if he has one.  Love the the buggy and the love for them. I just tell people its fast just sitting there.  Of course mine is loud and slow but I hope to change that with a few things $$$$.I want a DLI sticking out the back . Some day. May not go fast but would look cool. SuperCharged  4 cylinder YES
