I am building a 1600DP on an AH case which appears to be from '73.

I have a 113-905-205-T distributor which I read is vacuum advance only.  I am looking at putting dual carbs on this engine.  Currently looking at a Dual EMPI 34MM EPC Carb Kit from CIP1 for around $310.

Would kind of like to stay with a vacuum advance distributor, but not sure this is the best distributor for that carb setup.

Will that setup provide enough vacuum for the distributor? Is there a better carb choice in that price range and a better distributor to use?

I realize a lot of that is personal preference and it is probably a topic that has been beat to death, I am doing all sorts of internet and forum searches but I asking anyway as I figure that'll get quicker results.

Thanks in advance.

If the carbs have vacuum ports they should work with that distributor. You can always "T" the ports together to get a stronger signal to the distributor. You could always run a straight mechanical advance distributor. DO NOT use the cheap EMPI copy, it's crap. IF you can find an old German or Brazilian 009 they are the best or there is a new Canadian made copy that is supposed to be just as good as the old ones.

Thanks for the response. Turns out those carbs don't have a vacuum port.

Looks like lowbugget.com sells that kit and will add a vacuum port and suggest pairing it with their curve vacuum advance distributor. Gonna give them a call and maybe go that route.

A lowbugget setup will scream right out of the box. Awesome set up if you have the money.
