Wanting to run a full flow oil system. Wondering what others on here have done with a remote oil filter? Locations, plumbing? I know there is a filter to pump "kit" just not keen on the filter being next to #4 (?) cylinder. Looking for advice tips and pics. Thanks in advance!

It really depends on what you have for a buggy. I would attempt to mount it so the hole is at the top. That way you can fill it with oil to help at start up after an oil change.

Fiberglass body, VW swing axle pan and Type 1 engine w/dp heads. I concur with you Jeff on installing it "up right", what I'm wondering is what others have done as far as where they located the remote filter. Close to the pump, mounted to the body, behind the fan shroud? How much is too much hose?

Mount it where you can reach it and where it won't make a mess when you remove it.

Hose length is not an issue.

I mount mine off the exhaust studs on #4 cylinder with a custom mount. I have mine upside down to get it up out of the air under the car for racing. It's not that bad when changing oil. I like my hoses short. Both of mine are around 12" long or less. Use QUALITY hose. IT's expensive, but worth every dime for piece of mind

Here it is in my buggy

Here's the same motor in my 57, but will be going back in a buggy. You can see how I moved the filter
