Is this the bowden tube??
and why is there a chain on top of the tranny?

It is the Bowden tube.
Chains were old school way of limiting the transmission movement and protecting the nosecone from cracking

Thanks for the reply,in the pic it looks like it has a slight bend but when you standing over it it doesn`t have 3/4 to an inch of bend like everyone is saying or should i say like i`ve been reading.should i replace it and is it as hard as it looks,at the end of the wire right before the nut the wires wrapped around a metal tube about 2 wraps,do i have to unwrap that to get the tube off.

Are you having an issue with it shifting? Or do you have a shudder when you let the clutch out?
If you do then it likely does not have a correct bend to it. You can add more bend by adding washers between the tube and where it slides into the guide at the tranny.
That pipe method is a pretty unique way to shorten a cable. Looks dangerous as heck. I personally wouldn't drive something with a cable shortened like that.
Several better ideas here:

i`m only having a problem letting the clutch out in first gear,it vibrates real bad throw itself back into neutral, once i get it into second gear every things great all the way to forth

Likely not enough bow in the tube or possibly the weld broke where the tube touches the pan.
