You may have covered this topic already but I'm an excited new buggy owner. I named her Buffy after the girl on Family Affair. How many of you remember that show. Perfect time period. Did you guys name your buggies and what made you come up with those names?
My friends at home refer to mine as "THE Buggy". MY friends at Bonneville refer to it as "THE Badass Buggy" I call it Jennifer, LOL. I've really never named it. My first Beetle was called "Spooky", my 57 Oval being built will be called "Virgin Vicky" after my Great Uncle's WW2 Lancaster bomber and my soon to be new buggy will be named "Baxter's Bullet" after our 4 legged friend that we lost this spring. In 3 weeks I'll be travelling 3200km to go and get it.....pictures to come
I remember Family Affair. brad
I have not named my buggy yet but I suppose I will. I did name my 65 Shelby Cobra...."Snake bite". The first week I had it I burnt my leg as I was opening the hood to show a friend the engine. I belong to a Cobra club and I am told that is a "rite of passage" for Cobra newbies. No injuries so far from the buggy just a lot of frustration during the build. This is supposed to be fun but the build is my first run and there have been a few bumps in the road. So maybe on the plate I will put "BUGME".

I built my RoadRunner in 1968 and named it the "Lil' Bugger". Just seemed fitting. Some kids like to call it the Lil' Booger". I originally named it "El Bandito" when I had put it in some car shows back in the 70's, but changed it to "Lil' Bugger" back in the 80's. The "Lil Bugger" is the Fuschia one, 2nd from the left. The oldest of the group, titled as a 1958 VW.

I think it is tradition to name your buggy. After all the first Manx was named "Old Red" by Bruce. I don't have a name for my Deserter yet, but expect that it will develop one fairly soon after I get it together and start driving it. Most buggies eventually develop some name, and quite often they keep the same name as they are sold from one person to another.
