Well I got my instrument panel for my Sportsman complete but not sure how to secure the old VDO gauges to the panel. I thought I would fabricate a bracket simular to the ones on my new VDO Series 1 gauges but have no way to mount the bracket to the gauges themselves. Any ideas?

In the Empi catalog it shows that VDO makes stud mounting kits for 2 1/16 and 3 1/8in gauges.   I don't know if they would work for your setup.
I have used hose clamps to hold gauges in panels before that where held in place with a rubber ring in dash they came out of.

Stud kit won't work, no holes inthe gauges to put them in. What about a thick rubber O-ring or 2 slid over the back of the gauge? You could always use some RTV to set them in.

Gauge panel is out. so the suggestions of O-rings, clamps, RTV, will all work, one other suggestion, Hot Melt Glue gun.  Hot Glue comes in many colors including clear, couple of dabs on lip before you set gauge in panel, then several more on back side, should hold for many years.

Just my 1/5th of a dime.

Thanks for all of the ideas! I was also thinking of using a piece of rubber and wrapping the gauge where it meets the back side of the panel and using a hose clamp to hold it in place.

Two "O" rings on each gauge will hold it securely.
