There are dune buggy enthusists nationwide working on planning invasions of local VW shows, buggy hangouts, and other dune buggy freindly areas. One such is the East Coasts Largest VW show the Manassas Bugout.

We are making plans to roll into the Bugout registration Hotel the Battlefield Inn with a ton of buggies the day before the show, tour a resto shop, crash a street rod show, and then hang out by the pool. The next morning, a full scale invasion of dune buggies at the show.

John. I have reservations at a campground for 2 weeks around the show. I was thinking if its not too late, I would like to get a room at the battlefield inn for the night before the show. do you have contact info for that hotel?

The 27th at the Best Western Battlefield Inn we will meet pre-register and then cruise and eat, and lots of bench racing!!

I tryed to get a room at several places and they are all booked solid, I guess I'll be sleeping in the buggy or leaving my house at 3 am.  either way I chose it will be just like when I make the wife mad (like when I bought my last bug) lol

I am staying at a campground in Louisa VA. It is about 1 hr 15 min from Manassas. The ride to Manassas is all on back roads. If you interested. The campground is called Christopher Run. Its on Lake Anna. They have a very large overflow area for tent camping.

John,
I decided to incorporate the run into my vacation. I have a site reserved from May22 until June 3.
My reserved site is E-10 with the option to move to the field if I choose. the site has hookups for electric and water but its small. The field has no electric but is more secluded. There is water near by.
Anyone concidering a place to camp should check this out. its really beautiful. The field is on/near the lake with a small beach.
Last year I rode my MC everywhere in the campground with no complaints. I dont see why buggies would be any different as long as you are responsible and relatively quiet.

I am going to be there.  However I will not be able to bring the buggy since it will be a Bonsai run from Florida.  Hope to meet you all.

I am trying to figure out my schedule for this weekend... I am going to at my house in Louisa (Lake Louisa) over the weekend. I am planning on driving up to the show in my buggy. What time are you guys leaving to go to the show? Want to meet at Sheets on 29?

There is a BP gas station real close to both of us. At the stoplight at 522 and 20 we could meet there. its about 5 minutes North on 522 from Anna. I will call you on your cell. I was thinking like 7 thou as it will take a while to get up there?

We showed last year in Ohio once but, never drove the buggy while we were there.

Just got back home today.
First chance to get online!!!!

We had a great time and met alot of members!
Sat. saw 4 buggies and 11 members without buggies.
Sun. we saw 20 dune buggies at the BUGOUT!

I have a ton of pics. 238 total.

Any buggies make it on to the drag strip?  What was the race track used for?

The run two sets of races.
The drag track is 1/8th miles SEVW I think, sanctioned racing.
One red rascal runs real fast and several buggies are always in the races.

The other track at the Bugout is an oval track.
Miss bugout held here......

Then....
The run a full oval track slalom races. Timed single laps one car at a time.

That turbo Imp would rock on this one too.
