HERE ARE PICTURES OF KEN ALLISONS DUNE BUGGY GO CART BODYS, YOURS IS DIFFERENT, NICE BUT DIFFERENT.                           Ken.........................................

Kens had the bumped up scoop up the middle of the hood, yours had a small single bumped up ridge down the middle of the hood, like a Rascal dune buggy sold by Sears, may want to do some research on old dune buggy go cart bodys sold by Sears ???              Ken........................

All the Sears Rascal info shows full size buggies.  Did they also make go karts?  Are these old go kart buggies worth anything?  I just bought this over the weekend.  It has a 5hp Briggs & Stratten and is running.  Needs some minor work, but in very good shape.

Here is something MonoManx7 has on the DBA   http://www.dunebuggyarchives.com/forum/topic_show.pl?tid=3337

The copper colored fiberglass dune buggy body on there has a hood with Spatz sunk in area in middle of the hood, Since we know Ken Allison made go cart dune buggy bodys we have to assume that some others like Spatz, Rascal, etc also made them. I would be interested at a good price and if you were not to far away, as you can see in the picture I posted they are not very comfortale to ride in, or on, LOL, Still I think they would make a nice adddition at a vw show shown with matching paint with a full size buggy. Where are you at ???                 Ken...................

what store was that, and what town is it in ?
By Jason J 2698 Date 2011-04-19 00:36
Yeah, I purchased it because I have a full size buggy and I thought it would be cool to have a mini buggy to match.  https://picasaweb.google.com/lh/photo/eDt6wcmQL0OGkqV_tjkJpw?feat=directlink

I haven't decided if I should fix it up and sell it, or paint it to match my buggy and keep it.  I'm in the Los Angeles area, between LA and Ventura.  What is something like this worth?

Jack if you are talking about the pictures I posted they came from The mans son that is sitting in the Allison go cart, when my computer crashed I lost his info and contact, luckily I re-copied the pictures because I had posted them here, the dune buggy dealership was in Blairsville Pa. and there last name is Dean, the sons name is Breck Dean. The Father passed some time back.

Sharp buggy Jason, I believe I would leave the hard top off the go cart though, LOL, we all say here " they are worth what someone is willing to pay " Rule of thumb, start high you can allways go down on the price.                                      Ken..........................

Are we talking over a $1000, or under $1000?  Just trying to get a ball park of what these things are worth.  I'll have to decide if I should fix this up and keep it, or resell it.

Sweet.  I'm glad we could identify it.  I did some google searching but did not find much on these old fiberglass go kart buggies.  What is the deal on these things... are they collectable?  Any ball park pricing?  They seem rare.  I'm trying to determine what to do with this... keep it original, modify it, or sell it.

Honestly don't know what they would be worth. There is an interest in them but seems like a small market. Couple hundred tops I would guess. I have some more pics of this style so I'll post a few for you.

Great photo.  That is the same frame I have, minus the front bumper (confirming mine is all orginal).

Anyone have ideas on a windshield?  I'm thinking I may need to fabricate something from scratch.  I'm also looking for some chrome headlights (maybe 3").

FYI - This is now for sale.  Freshly serviced 5 HP Briggs & Stratton engine, new clutch, throttle cable, seat & windshield.  Original frame and body in perfect running condition.
