Hum Good Idea John , lets see 26 letters in the alphabet, so Im back to "C" again LOL lets see does cooter start with a C or K, something tells me they would all sound like redneck names coming from me LOL, cant wait to get back to S, scooter, skeeter, and what tha heck name starts with a X ????
Ken.................
Im back, well dune buggys have slowed down a little for me right now I am busy at my shop with customers, which is good since it has raised 2 daughters and kept food on the table most all my life !!! I have a family coming from New Bern NC to get the Sears Rascal, I have had a lot of lookers on the Viper but no sale yet, which is surprising it is a whole lot of buggy for the money !!! I also have a new addiction, vintage coolers and surf boards, as with buggys I dont know when to stop, I have 11 now , coca cola, pepsi, 7 up, cola cooler, and pleasure chest, the old type from the 50s, I also have 4 surfboards, so if anybody is looking for coolers, surf boards or buggys hit me up, I went to the bug bash at Farmington and there were a lot of people using the vintage coolers but only 1 for sale and no surfboards for sale, then I wemt to the goodguys show at Charlotte and there were only 2 coolers and 3 surfboards for sale that I saw, Since I bought the Shriner Allison and also Have the Blue Moon Dune Allison I have decided to let my other 2 Allisons go, I also have the Meyers Manx for sale, and the long Spatz project and of course the lt green Viper, everybody have a good day and I will check back later. Ken....................
You're making me cry man!!!!! I've always wanted a surf board for the buggy and would love an old Coke cooler to throw in the back. I collect Coke memorabilia. I even designed a removable roof rack for my roll cage if I ever came across a board!!!!! I'm gonna go cry now! LOL
WWWWWWAAAAAAAAAAAA ![]() brad
Well I dont have a detachable roof rack but I have coolers and surf boards so Im going to go cry too, LOL
WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
I'm gonna talk to a buddy of mine that hauls long distance to see if he ever gets to your neck of the woods. I NEED a board.
brad
I need a detachable roof rack, set up for a cooler and a surf board, The boards I have are the 6' 4" ones, Ken.............
Can I cry also? My ex took my 50's coke cooler, and when I was in Oxnard last month, I could have picked up two surf boards for $5.00 ea.
Whaaaaaa! I will find some cali trans plant up here in Idaho and get thier surf board off of them. Oh, wait, Important thing, I need a running buggy first. Ken, still waiting to here about the hudson. ;>) Lloyd
is it really there's a detachable roof rack available in the market? just first to hear that thing. well guess so. thanks!
I have designed one to fit on my particular buggy/rollcage set up. I never made it, never figured I'd find a board. It was designed to permanently hold the board so I could slalom race with it, but the rack itself was removable.
brad
This is what makes all the trouble of searching and driving around and buying buggys worth while, I meet Roger and his 2 sons out of town today so they could get the Sears Rascal, Great guys and here is the email he just sent me, I love it when everything works out for everyone !!! A great family with a Father and sons project, and a good old dune buggy gets a good home, Life is good, Thanks for the chicken soup Roger.
IT RUNS! Put in a battery, poured a little gas in the carb and it fired up! Took the boys for a ride around the yard. Brakes work ok too. Push tubes POUR oil out but I expected that. I really appreciate your help with getting it to me. I am so happy with the buggy. Thank you, thank you, thank you! I will keep you posted on my progress. Cheers, Roger On Oct 31, 2010, at 12:31 AM,
Good on ya mate. Nothin' better than a happy buyer.

Its been a little slow in my Dune Buggy world, Holidays are for family, friends, and making memories. Along with getting back into a old hobby of RC Racing. Shop gettin a little slow again but fortunately I sold the light green Viper buggy friday night, nice couple from the outer banks came and bought it, Had another couple from Anderson SC come today and look at my teal blue Allison, the lady allready has a Allison and is thinking of getting another, time will tell, but we did share Allison information and pictures and I offered to let them make a copy of the back seats and top for their Allison from mine, more great people and they told me about the show they go to in Chattanooga, might even get up with them and do that show. We have had our first snow and supposed to have another winter storm coming tomorrow night, hopefully it will hold off till I get home from Spartanburg tommorow night from Racing !!! Bring on the warm weather I need a Dune Buggy ride. Ken.......................
OK so I didnt fall off the end of the world but Im sure I bumped my head somewhere along the way, LOL. I didnt count the vw bug as # 30 and my newest find is just a body, but it is a Allison Daytona body and they are my favorite so here is # 30. I drove 2 hours away and got the body, it came with the dash and dash support frame, windshield frame, windshield wiper blades, wiper motor, and arm, steering column and custom steering wheel, gas tank and filler cap, a set of VW tail lamps and housings, front VW turn signals, other little odds and ends, and most important the Allison Embem and tag bracket and light with housing. Say Hello to # 30 early Allison Daytona body and parts. Ken............................

Congratulations Andrew.... it is always great to see a buggy get a good home.
Also a note of thanks to Ken for helping to keep our buggy passion alive it such a good way. Nice buggies to good homes. It doesn't get much better than that.
Just wish Ken were Closer to Idaho! Lately tho my money has been going toward Old International trucks. tho I hopefully will get to go look at the corvair based one I have heard about. Non runner.
Lloyd

The Burgandy Meyers Manx went home with the new owners today, another buggy gets a good home !!! Trip to Va. later this week to pick up another Dune buggy. Ken.....................
# 31 B&N Industries Tarantula, yea its tweety the yellow Tarantula that I sold my buddy Vince, I wondered how long it would take to end up buying one of the ones I sold back, Unfortunately the economy sux and Vince got layed off, I took the money from selling the Manx and bought the Tarantula back, it was a big surprise when a man called that saw the manx ad and came right over and bought the Tarantula, WOW with selling Andy the Teal Allison, then the manx and now Tweety thats 3 sold in about a week, Im counting it as 31 since I did buy it twice, so here is # 31 with the improvements Vince did to it.If any of you remember Vince running out of gas and the battle we had over the " gas guage for dummies ", LOL, He assured me it has a full tank of gas and I passed that information on to the new owner. http://www.dunebuggyarchives.com/forum/topic_show.pl?pid=17003;hl=vince%20t#pid17003 Ken............................

Sorry to hear about Vince, glad you were in a position to help him out. The more I am part of different forums the more I realize how well we have it here in Canada.Hope things turn around for you all soon.
brad
Thanks Brad, I guess being self employed for so long I have dealt with the feast and famine so much in my life that I dont feel the effect quite as bad as people that realy on a 40 hour a week job to pay the bills, Vince is back into the RC racing again and has not been out of work for to awfull long so hopefully he will find something real soon !!! Andy I have confidence in the fact that you will make the Teal Allison one sweet ride !!! I should be posting by the weekend # 32 after my trip to Va. friday, you guys have a great week and talk to you later. Ken........................
![]() ![]() Ken, nice to see Tweety back in the stable for a moment. Not sure I would ever warm up to the yellow and black rope on the roll bar, but it certainly makes it a unique one! Jay
I too am sorry about vince. Economy has hit us all hard but we will still remain the best country in the world . God bless America
dUneBugga, DuNebUgga, dunEbUGGA, Long trip friday left at 6:30 in the morning, got home at 9:30 LAST NIGHT. I checked on this buggy last summer and passed, well the man decided to get close to my offer so yep I got er. 1600 DP, it came lavender metal flake, then got painted blue, then yellow, its funny because the buggy was made in Va. sold to a shriner in SC, went back to Va. then I brought it back to SC again, LOL, She needs love but a good solid buggy, also came with a lot of new parts, Here she is # 32. Joe Poty Spoiler # on Joe Potty tag is 1269 Ken....................

Another nice find Ken !!
OH NO NOT ANOTHER DUNE BUGGY, Well no its a kit car and seeing as it is old air cooled vw stuff I am counting it and the light green 65 bug, so I count this as # 34 Daytona MIGI, I picked this one up in Charleston SC, I am the 3rd owner, the man that bought the kit brand new lived on Johns Island near Charleston, it sat in his garage for years untill the next man came along that was a air cooled VW guy and bought it, he bought the kit and bought a 1974 bug took off the body changed to a better front end and welded in new pans and painted the chassis, hge got her about 90 % done and his health started getting bad, even though it was a brand new kit the door handles had small pits so he purchased brand new handles, this kit car is practicaly like brand new, side curtains and red carpet have never even been put on the car, I havent even cleaned it up yet, so here she is # 34 Daytona MIGI. Ken..............................

Ken you are something else. This is an Allison?if so you have to keep this for your collection. Can not wait to pu the teal Allison then I get a free tour of tha Allison buggy museum!!

Kellison Jim
Ken, you MUST be running out of room, I think you could store that 40 over at my place! I promise I would keep it in GOOD running condition! VBG
Like the MIGI! Lloyd
OH how I wish it were a Allison !!!! As they say here in the south " I would be sitting in high cotton ", LOL Andy you are craMping my style, LOL, I cant sell these other buggys because they see your teal Allison and want it ,I could have sold it for you allready 6 times !!! Lloyd the 40s FOR SALE, and Jim my old buddy I didnt ever have a real 52 MG but like your dad I never liked these things, I was young and they looked like old folks cars, well now that I am old folks the dern thing is growing on me, LOL, I dont want to turn the " dune buggy addicts post to a 52 MG kit car page, but I will do a post here on a little I have learned about these things so far. Ken....................
There were many companys that made replica kits of the 52 MG, Bradley, Fiber Fab, Allison, etc, they were built from everything from VW chassis with air cooled VW, to box frame with Ford Pinto, to Chevette to Corvette. The one I just bought is a Fiber Fab Daytona MG MiGi out of Holly Wood Florida, Believe it or not they still sell almost everyting for these kit cars, I called the number and the man told me they have every piece availiable except the convertable tops, side curtains, and the chrome grills, Her is a link on the daytona MiGi that showa all kinds of info from when they were built and sold http://www.tdreplica.com/Manuals/DaytonaMigiPages.pdf also here are some pictures of Allison MG, and Fiber Fab Daytona MG MiGi, dont know what I want to do with this one, I was thinking of a budyy of mine when I bought it, it is growing on me but I AM A DUNE BUGGY MAN !!!!!!

Kellison Jim
Thanks Jim, I had some beautiful pictures loaded of a red Allison MG but they wouldnt down size and it stretched out the page so bad that I just deleted them, I should have went to Mississippi and got that other Allison buggy but I just figured it was to far, as much as I hate to miss a Allison it just needed to much for such a long trip. Save your money and I will sell you Blue Moon Dune, or get the red one and paint it the way you want, the chassis is done and I have more new parts for it than I can mention on here, or just hang on you never know what we might find out there in the dune buggy world !!!!!! Ken....................
Ken you made another great score. Jim have to warn you. Once you go Allison you never go Manx.......Ken will agree with that!!!
That tears it!!! I'm moving to SC before Ken buys everything aircooled on the planet
![]() New sign for he shop. Ken Lee Customs and FiberCar Museum brad
As my daughters would say " I KNOW, RIGHT " LOL, who knows whats next, I thought maby the Fred Flintstone car, then I thing Hey allredy had some of them, dune buggys with no floor pans, LOL, Dont really know what to do with the MG kit car, my buddy has wanted one for a long time, I dont want to let him down but the darn thing is in such good shape, something tells me to just put in a motor and button it up and go for more profit, but then I might want to keep it and I DONT NEED NO MORE TOYS TO KEEP !!!!decisions, decisions ??? It really wouldnt trake much to finish the MG where on the other hand the buggys I have for sale will take more work and money to fix than the MG, also 5 to 6 grand to me is stretching the limit on what most people are willing to pay for a buggy or a MG kit car ????? I still have fun locating these things and the trips to get them are OK, but with the gas prices going crazy it makes it more difficult !!! Oh well enough rambling on I told my buddy Duck I would let him know something by friday, so we will see what happens ??? Have a good one Brad !!! Ken...................
Oh yea Brad I built a Bugatti kit car for a customer years ago and I remember that driving from the back seat feel, I guess since I was a Corvette guy years ago it didnt bother me, I was used to that long front end feel. Wishing good weather to all my Northern friends out there so you can all get the buggys out and ride !!!!! Ken..................
DO I DARE ??? Why not if you own it twice it counts right # 34 Porky ( again ), I just couldnt let my friend down on the MG kit car so he is getting what he has wanted for a long time, and I took old porky empi emp clone in on trade, The guy that bought Vinces buggy from me wanted the MG but I had to let him down, well I called him and told him if he wanted project buggys I could hook him up so he came today and bought the yellow Joe Poty, Porky the emp, the long blue spatz and the Allison body, also a torn apart 1600 dp motor, 2 centerline wheels, and two 14" tires, it looks awfull bare around the shop now, only one left in my body shop and it is the one that started all the madness the red and white Allison Daytona, My other Allisons and the 65 bug I keep in my moms garage, almost felt bad waving bye bye to old Porky, but on to more buggys, say bye to old # 34 Porky the empi emp clone. I need another buggy im getting the DTs allready. Ken...............

Gee Ken all the empty space does that mean the teal Allison sleeps inside now? Snow starting to melt and I am hoping to make trip down soon for teal buggy.....this winter in ct has been bad and we need buggy season.
Havent even thought that far ahead, hopeing to fill the space again soon, LOL, Your Teal Allison is safe under the shed, I really like it better out of sight because everybody that sees it wants to buy it. Ken..............
Guess you'll have to put up the old shop sign again LOL.
In your wheeling and dealing if you ever come across a spare set of 4 bolt VW Centerlines let me know. Looking for some 4" and 6" 15's or something close to those widths. Every time I park my buggy on the grass to wash it, 500 people stop and ask if it's for sale. I tell them sure every thing's for sale, got $20,000???. I gotta keep the car cover on it all the time or people are knocking on the door. brad
Now thats a idea Brad, I can go door to door, " GOT BUGGY " LOL, I can snatch the back seat out of the old 65 bug ( that will be my old buisness man coupe ) and carry a suit case with a sticker that says " "GOT BUGGY??? HAVE TRAILER , WILL TRAVEL !!!! " I will keep a eye out for the centerlines for you. Have a good one my friend !!!! Ken................
Tanks Mang!!!
