Bought this buggy on Ebay and would like to find out what this particular style is called and who it was made by.  The buggy is registered as a 58 VW, but we think the engine is 70's.  Haven't had a chance to give it a good going-over yet, but haven't located any type of ID anywhere on the buggy so far.  Also, can anyone recommend where I can go to find replacements for the rusted headlight casings? (Won't let me attach more than one pic, so will post separately, I guess.)

Can anyone ID this buggy?

There's a couple names that share this body style...

1) Kellison
2) Playboy Bodies

Just out of curiosity,  the the inner walls (or tub) seperate from the main body (hood, tail section, etc)?

Looking at the one ad we have for a Playboy, this has to be a match.  The license plate area, double ridge on the hood, high sides on the fenders, swoop up behind the driver and passenger, etc.

Linda, I can create a registry for your buggy if you like.  Let me know.

We've further refined this buggy to a "Playboy Pickup" - as X-0030 turned out to be the "Playboy" (standard body).  We also have an ad for the Playboy Pickup now!

Linda, your headlights look to be the standard 7 inch sealed beam type, those chrome shells are commonly available at most buggy supply shops.

You don't mention what area you are from however here is a link to one supplier that advertises on this forum.

P.S. Expect the new ones to rust again if you leave the buggy outside too often.
