i picked up a random unfinished fiberglass hardtop for $20 laying in the junkyard

i dont want a regular hardtop
1. because it makes mine a two seater
2. i dont like the way the 4 seater hardtops look
3. havnt been able to find one to fit a sand shark because of the droopy rearend

im thinking i can cut this one down and make a fiberglass bamini? bakini? whatever top
just from the windsheild to the roll bar. anyone done this? the only downside i see
is my passengers cant grab around the roll bar to hang on. most of the time if we are
gettin a little nuts (ie..tough hill in the woods) the wives and kids bail out and watch from the side

simlar to the canvas but fiberglass and just attached to the roll bar
the pic isnt mine but similar to this canvas one

Why not just make a canvas one or if you want a hard top build your own instead of cutting up a roof. It will probably be as much work to retrofit something as to build new. I've seen all sorts of tops, there is no right or wrong. Build it to what YOU need....

If you buy the top from Meyers and have it shipped it will come in three pieces.  The sides are separate.  Other than that no problem cutting one down.

i would build a canvas one. this way if you dont need it you can take it off and fold it up and stick it in your buggy with a fiberglass one you have to keep it on or off.

you could always build a cloth top the way you want it to look, then fiberglass over it. matt and Batt ,not just resin
