Terrific weekend! I had my Sterling there - hope to have the Shalako there next year - maybe tow it there with the Sterling...ummmm...maybe not...lol. I'll have a video posted in a few days - much editing needed.
I only brought it on Sat, my gal is on me to work on the kitchen so.. I had to compromise my weekend activities

http://s475.photobucket.com/albums/rr118/LongIslandManx/ ![]() I made it back last night at 1 AM. 11 hours..not too bad considering the rain and weather. My S -10 did great until the last 50 miles as I apparently fueled up with some bad gas just inside the SC border. The moncoque is filthy (I wonder why) I have today off andam grateful as I have to dry out everything...darn rain! I had a blast .It was great meeting you all. I hope you all had safe return trips. Last year Farmerjohn and I used a cement mixing tub. This year I wanted something different. I spoke with Tom about getting a 55 gal barrel and one showed up at the shop. It was ounce used for concentrated orange juice and had some crazy coating in it and on it! We burned some of it off so I would have raw metal, the rest came off with a wire wheel and ear plugs... it was loud!! The barrel was cut down to 12'' and the top was rolled and pounded over do a smooth and strong top edge. I come in one day and Tom was working on the stand which is not attached to the barrel for easy emptying and replacing. I know you need air holes for a better burn so I figured that I'll make them in the shape of buggies I also included the sun and the palm tree form the Tijuana Kustoms business card. I was told to watch the design because I could cut something wrong and have pieces fall out. After playing with it for a few days I felt I was ready to make a few cuts. I first cut it out of paper, and then went to oak tag and once I was happy with that I sprayed paint through the stencil onto my barrel. I would let that dry and then fire up the plasma cutter.... This was the end result.
I was told by someone that he didn't think I would get it done ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() My stencil has ended up on several things 4 on the tow van 1 on the side of the Boonie buggy 1 on the trailer 1 on a tent 1 on a pair of chairs 1 on the side of a golf cart belonging to the Carlisle Event manager ![]() 1 on the Tijuana Kustom sign
Big Tonka Kid, I should have been there, the burn barrel alone would have been worth the trip, Maby next year I can get up with Mono Manx and get to meet you guys , Me and my friends have a lot of bon fires how good are you at drawing red necks LOL, AWSOME JOB,sounds like you all had a good trip becides some getting wet going home.
