Looking for an ID on the gold twin-scooped buggy. Pics in link.

Hi Bugdust - I have not seen a hood with dual offset scoops before.  Can you verify if those are part of the original hood fiberglass or were they glassed on later?

I wonder if John can give us a hint based on the dash.

There is another one of these bodies shown at "Jeff's Garage", a site about dune  buggies. It is in the "unknown" section...

They are the same gold flake and appear to be original. I can look underneath maybe and see if I can see anything. I'm sure the tank is in the way but I'll look tomorrow.

The scoops are definately original to the body.

The dash looks pretty unique too, with the molded in blank for the radio.

Check out this dash from our Dune Buggy Models gallery under the Glitterbug:

Seems like a match to the dash below, but the rest of the body doesn't match the Glitterbug.

From John...

Paul,
That "Glitterbug" is a Glitch.
I think the PO called it a Glitterbug.
We have no documentation that has a Glitterbug with anything other than the center gauge area of that dash. Although I have found that some later bodies seem to have a radio bumps on the dash.
It could be a "Late" Glitterbug. The owner had no badges or other docs, that I recall. We left it there because he claimed it to be so.

HEY FELLAS! I believe this is also a Trophy Cars buggy. The dash is the same as X-44. Normally we try to be sure we have no duplicate X-files, but this one must have slipped through the cracks, because I see it as the same as X-44

Now, following this discussion about the Glitterbug Dash and Bart's information that X-44 was derived from Glitterbug, and it's all coming together no?

Jay, You going to Carlisle?
By Jay H (X-20) (ManxVair CC) Date 2010-04-30 11:10
I wish I was able to go to Carlisle this year, but I will be in Texas (with the buggy) on the "CJ Pony Parts RT-66 Rally". I'm very excited about the rally. It's going to benefit the STEPHANIE SPEILMAN Breast canter research fund this year.
