The dash is bonded to the hood. It has tubes halfway to the back under the fender. It has a recessed area for a spare tire in the hood. The tail lights are built in like an Allied buggy. What do you think?

I think you're right about it being an X buggy.  I placed this on The Samba as well and it doesn't look good for finding a brand?

Somewhere I have another pic of a buggy with the same hood - no id , but there is another one out there. Definately looks to have Allied traits. I'll try and locate those pics.

I think it was for sale on the samba awhile back. I'm always cataloging body styles (achives is my game ;-) Cool thing is now I know what the tail shold have looked like thanks to you. I havent seen any other manufacturers using this tail design so it is a very good chance that this may be an Allied Fiberglass creation. They were known for the mustang tail light pockets

Bart, Albert JUST posted on here about the Easter Earthquake after close to a year? He was the owner of Allied Fiberglass and has shared a wealth of information about Allied. Hopefully we can re-connect and find out if this one is an Allied or possibly a copy.

Albert said there were many people copying his design. I guess Meyers wasn't the only one who fell prey to the fiberglass buggy boom copying era.

Yeah, see if you can find out ! That would be cool.

That would be great to get some infor from Albert.  One of the things about the hood I have is the seam between the hood and dash is vertical and then goes horizontal towards the front a few inches.  That might help ID it as a possible Allied? The buggy is in storage and covered for now.  I will take a few pics of it next week. You guys are great! Thanks for the help.
