Does that "hood" go behind the front seats? It doesn't look like a hood imo.
By Allison Daytona Ken Date 2010-02-03 13:29 Edited 2010-02-03 13:31
Yea its the funniest looking hood I ever saw also, maby they ment HOODIE, only half wore out Brad, I figured after all that scotch and canadian beer it would be a little more lol, Hope one of you gets it, wrong size, thats what they make fiberglass for. good luck if it was closer I would have it !!!  Kellison Jim arnt you close to me in SC if you just want the top, I will take the seat tornue !!!    Ken.........

Ken, No only half, I pretty much stopped imbibing 15 years ago, got tired of wasting days recovering, too many things to do, not enough time. Now I drink less, better quality, enjoy it more. Although every  once in a while a good go at it is OK, I just plan ahead....

My 18 year old scotch is about 25 years old now LOL

It's too bad something like that won't work with a roll bar. I guess if you made it to where you lifted it out instead of it being hinged it would work.

Ken,
I wish I was in S.C.! As a matter of fact, that is where my wife and I would love to retire. For the last 20 years we've been staying in Surfside Beach in a Ocean Front beach house. Anyway!I am in the Dayton, Ohio area.
I tried doing some research, but couldn't find any buggies using that rear cover with the headrests. The top might work for me, but I might make the guy an offer and drive the 40 minutes and get them regardless.

Great I hope it works out for you Jim, I have a cousin that lives in Surfside, we have a place at cherry grove, thats the last beach in north myrtle beach before you go over the waterway and go in to Little River SC, then Calabash NC, my dad was born in Little River. We moved to Rock Hill SC when I was 6 months old, been here ever since, 40 minutes to the top I hope it works thats pretty close for you.      Ken..........

maby not it doesnt look like it has the scoops behind the head rest.     Ken.......
By Kellison Jim Date 2010-02-04 03:43
Ken, is it me or do those headrest on the blue buggy look useless that far behind the seat.
Kellison Jim
By Brian B 1822 Date 2010-02-04 11:36
Maybe they are set of goofy speakers?? Otherwise I agree they are pretty useless that far back.

Oh man.... hopefully she pulled it down because of your call & the drive you'll be making? Maybe touch base with her before you head out? Good luck Jim. I'm hoping you get it. If you are succesful, any plans to re-pop the "hood" (rear deck cover)?

SHE SOLD IT FROM UNDER ME!!!!!!! Some guy from north of Toledo got it. He bought it sight unseen and paid her utility bill online since she didn't take paypal. He told her he would be down to pick it up in a couple of weeks. The thing that sickins me is I check craigslist in Ohio at least 3 times a week and I didn't see it until Ken L  posted this thread. She swore it came off a Manx.

THAT SUCKS. I hate when stuff like that happens. I once lost out on some model train stuff because I didn't have enough money to buy some stuff at a garage sale, I offered to leave the money I had as a deposit and be right back they said no that will be OK and when I got back they sold it saying they didn't think I'd be back. Another person who missed a beating with a helmet by inches!!!!!!

Oh Jeez Jim, That stinks! I had a bad feeling when you said the ad was no longer there, but I've seen sellers do stranger things.

Tell her you want to use it to make a mold before the guy comes to pick it up! Hope it wasn't someone here on this site. I would have been interested too.

Sorry you didnt get it Jim, I posted this thread as soon as I saw it,        Ken........

Guys,
that weird engine hood is a rear tonneau cover and the black parts are headrests. That is really cool.

The black top is a Manx hardtop.

That was a STEAL
Chris
By Rick M 333 Date 2010-03-06 00:03
Actually, I'm betting those black headrests were speakers....(on the blue car)..
By Kellison Jim Date 2010-03-06 04:01
I'm still kicking myself in the a$$ for not driving the 1 hour in the snow to pick it up.

By Allison Daytona Ken Date 2010-03-06 04:05
No, I told you they are headrest for the alcohol challenged people in the world, and anyway what are convertables for if not to look at the sky LOL, I think a chiropractor developed this tornue cover, mo buisness mo money.             Ken.............
