Here we try to flip a VW R&P or swap cams on a Corvair engine to get the rotation right... Why not run a Subaru transaxle with a Corvair engine? No flipping, no swapping, no problem handling the power and you get 5 speeds with an IRS set up. Just add the block off for the rear output shaft and an adapter. Anyone heard of an adapter to go from a Corvair engine to a Subaru transaxle? I have a spare 5-speed sitting around, but no Corvair engine to hook it too. (I should have kept that Corvair powered Imp John bought). Paul...

EMPI Imp 1002 ('69)/Subaru EJ20 Turbo/LinkPlus ECU ![]() Jay I'm guessing you're talking about putting it in a rear engine set-up - but with a backwards rotation Corvair to get it going the right way? Sounds like the same old problem of running the trans backwards. I guess it could be done, but might not last too long? You'd have to convince Kennedy to come up with a new adapter set - Corvair to Subaru! Of course you know the "right" way to do it... use the newly available reverse cut ring and pinion gearset from Australia and then reverse-rotate the Corvair! Sort of a double reverse! Jeff ![]() Jay
