Two of the DBA brethren are now in the planning stages
of building a race entry for the NORRA Mexican 1000.
The race will be held on Sept 16-19, 2009.

Hopefully I can convince them to post the build/rebuild pictures here.
I'll keep you posted.

Work is under way on the Norra entry from our own Tom and Chris Lewis.
Tom and Chris were instrumental help with dune buggy build project we did last year.

So, I am helping them with sponsorship for this build project.
If anyone owns, works for, or knows of any company who might benefit from being
a sponsor on a Vintage Meyers Manx clone in this Rally event, please send me a PM.

The brothers have started to send me photos so I will get them posted very soon.
The chassis is under construction in Indiana and the body is being re done in South Carolina.

In gathering information for the Lewis Brother Racing Team, I remembered talking to Ron Johnson about the Hickey racing team vehicles he owns. Then out of the blue as I was thinking about him, he emailed me to tell me he is putting together several teams for the Norra Race.

He sent me a few pics to share with you all.
I am going to try to get a vintage history of off road type section set up to archive as much
of this info as I can before it's too late. Enjoy some snaps, as the kids say.

In addition to the Goodyear Grabber being entered the Chevy truck Ron owns and a Blazer will be entered.
I will be getting more info on these awesome legendary racing machines that Ron now owns.

Those are some really AWESOME pictures!!!  Ireally like the Banshee but that motor looks a little too close to the drivers seat for my taste. I bet thats one wild ride.....

Looks like a great use for CUP cars!  Jack 'em up, fit some big off road tires and run 'em off road!  Be a lot more interesting to watch that way!
Cool old pics though - James Garner seemed to really be into off road racing back in the day.  Surprised he didn't figure out how to work that into a Rockford episode!
