The Ultimate Offroad Tub Buggy is the next buggy I want to build. It will be designed for off road use only (may not even have a plate - not sure) so when we go to the Two Rivers Jeep Club events, if the weather is nice, we can both drive.
Expected Features:
- 2.5L Subaru non-turbo (EJ25)
- VW Transaxle 002 for the low gearing
- 4 Spider gears (similar to posi) with turning brakes.
- A beat up old tub body so I don't have to worried about hitting trees.
- Tilt up hood with cooler where gas tank goes. Plan to use the AC compressor from the EJ25 AC system to keep it cool.
- Rear seat toilet (take the keys with you when in use). You've sean seats mounted to a hitch - why not just in the back seat?
- Curtain raised by releasing the off road flag to old it up.
- Hole in the back seat with a Diaper Genie like-system.
- TP holder on back of front seat.
- Heat/cooling lines in the seat cushions.
- Full suspension seats (rubber band style)
- Tilt up rear engine cover.
- 35" skinny light weight tires (help?)
- On-board water (everyone has on-board air...) - Can you say "Super Soaker"?
- Grill - have to keep this away from the fiberglass. Why eat cold sandwiches on the trail.
- Cooler - maybe run off the AC? Maybe a thermoelectric system.
Well that's all I've come up with so far. Feel free to add your own recommendations for my idea below.
