Bart Shoemaker has engineered a great fix to the common buggy master cylnder issues. Bart writes....

This is a modification that I created. Depending on what manufacturer master cylinder you have you can do this yourself.

- If using the ATE master (small port holes) use a VW Rabbit reservoir 1985-89 and get two o-rings (1/8 x 5/16 id x 9/16 od) at a hardware store to space the reservoir up above the master. File the points off the bottom of the spouts but not all the way.You just want to flatten them - use your old hose spouts for reference. - If using the Varga master (large port holes) use a Volvo 240 reservoir 1975-1983

note #1 You can use the Rabbit reservoir on the big hole Varga but you will need to locate the grommets from an Audi 5000 master cylinder

note #2 All the parts are basically ATE as Volvo, VW and Audi used them to make their brake parts - gotta love that German interchangability.
