the Dune Buggy Archives

I started out on the vw scene when I was 14 years old. My dad bought me a 63 beetle so I could learn about cars. Two years later, my dream was a baja bug which I drove for 3 more years. Since then, I have had a 73 super, a 71 Ghia, switched to water cooleds for a 78 rabbit, 84 GTI, and 91 G60 corrado. Even my wife likes vws, having had a 89 cabriolet and an 01 jetta turbo. However, the simplicity of the air cooled engine has called me back, and I now have a 65 dune buggy in the works. It is a Berrien Nostalgia and have been working on it for 2 years. I had hoped to have it done by now, but the time just keeps slipping away. I did make significant progress this past winter, but now spring chores and some house remodeling have taken over. I have set a goal and I hope to have it ready by summer of 07. Thanks to everyone who has answered questions along the way.
